The holidays are a time to give thanks for what we have, and to help others who have less than us. If you’re looking for ways to give back to your community, there are many volunteering opportunities in O’Fallon, Illinois for both adults and teens.
O’Fallon Community Food Pantry
Serving residents of both O’Fallon and our neighbor Shiloh, the O’Fallon Community Food Pantry has been doing incredible work in the community for almost thirty years. O’Fallon is entirely volunteer-run, so there are lots of opportunities, from shopping for items to stocking shelves to greeting clients.
St. Clare of Assisi Soup Kitchen
The St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in O’Fallon serves free meals to the hungry six days a week all year long at its soup kitchen. Volunteers are needed to provide and serve food, and on Saturdays, they invite special members of the community to provide meals, including volunteers from other area churches and Scott Air Force Base.
Randy’s Rescue Ranch
Animal lovers looking for a way to give back this holiday season should check out Randy’s Rescue Ranch. Randy’s is home to a wide range of farm animals and companion animals that have been rescued from abusive and neglectful owners. Volunteers are needed to groom the animals, muck stalls, walk dogs, and run the gift shop in the Welcome Center.
It’s the time of the year for giving. Visit Jack Schmitt Chevrolet to find a car that will better help you assist those in need.
